The Barraba Track
Walking or driving the Barraba Track is a unique and little known adventure experience. For spectacular scenic views of remote volcanic mountains, steep Barraba track offers mountain biking, walking, and a 4WD tour in Mount Kaputar National Park. This limited access track will inspire experienced mountain bikers and walkers as well as four-wheel drive enthusiasts.
Ascending the rocky track, stringybarks and blackbutts give way to majestic snow and mountain gums. You’ll pass lush ferns and grass trees before arriving at the summit, where you’ll glimpse the dramatic volcanic landscape of Mount Dowe and Lindsay Rock Tops, through the trees.

From Barraba:
- Turn west on Alice Street from Barraba's main street, Queen Street. The turn is at the corner with Denyer's Mechanical Reapirs on the south-western corner and the Salvation Army shop on the north-western corner.
- Travel west on Alice Street which becomes Trevallyn Road for around 25km. Turn left onto Mt Lindsay Road.
- Continue on Mount Lindsay Road until reaching the unlocked gates at the park boundary. You will need to tend left at the Cotswold Rd turn-off (remaining on Mt Lindesay Rd). This is a journey of around 50km and 45 minutes from Barraba.
